Just First Aid is pleased to be offering fully accredited face to face training in Anaphylaxis and Asthma Awareness for Child Care Workers to help you meet the requirements of managing anaphylaxis and asthma within children under your care. The course is specifically designed for child care workers and covers the following objectives:
Asthma
• Describe asthma and the signs and symptoms
• List triggers that can cause an asthma attack
• Discuss the types of medication and delivery devices for the management of asthma
• Identify a potential asthma emergency
• Demonstrate treatment for a mild/moderate and severe asthma episode
• Demonstrate first aid assistance in an undiagnosed individual
Anaphylaxis
• Describe Anaphylaxis and the signs and symptoms of an anaphylactic reaction
• Describe what a bi-phasic reaction is.
• Describe common food allergens
• Describe the common causes of Anaphylaxis
• Describe Anaphylaxis to latex, food, insect stings and medication
• Demonstrate use of adrenaline auto-injector for severe anaphylactic reactions
The course costs $80.00 per person and can be conducted at a time and location that is convenient to your service.
This training is now compulsory for all child care workers and teachers.
